WEB STOPPER - WS - 4100
The Web Stopper was designed to allow use of any intermittent punching assembly in an area of
the converting process where the film is moving continuously. The Web Stopper creates a momentary stop in the film by way of a dancer assembly. The unit can be used to work in register to printed film or draw length.
On a signal from the control, a brake is applied stopping the film motion. The dancer assembly is
activated accumulating film on the infeed side and paying out film on the exit side. In the bed of the
unit, we have a motionless web. The punching or sealing unit can now be activated.
This unit gives the in-line converter a new capacity to produce many different types of bags. The unit
is commonly used for shaped cutouts and punches. When used in conjunction with in-line bag machines, handle bags are easily manufactured in multiple lanes. For dispenser type serrations, the unit can be positioned between a bag machine unwind and centerfolder giving the potential to cut more complicated shapes rather than continuous serrations through a single bag layer.
This unit gives the in-line bag maker a true converting capacity for a wider range of products.
